Junuo FTA Satellite Receiver Setup
Setting up the Junuo DVB-2500 FTA receiver
North American Installation
A simple 10 minute setup process is necessary to setup up the Junuo DVB-2500 FTA satellite receiver for usage in North America. There are three steps as follows:
1) Designating TV system as NTSC
2) Adding North American Satellites to the menu (repeat if multiple LNB's installed)
3) Adding transponders to North American Satellites via the menu (repeat if multiple LNB's installed)
1) Designating TV system as NTSC
Your Junuo DVB-2500 FTA satellite Receiver will be shipped to with the Factory default setup. This setup has the TV system designated as the Euopean Broadcasting system: PAL. This tv system is incompatible with North American TV and satellite and must be changed to NTSC. Have your Junuo DVB-2500 FTA Receiver plugged in and your remote ready. The menu steps using your remote are as follows:
A) Your Junou FTA satellite Receiver will boot up in default mode and say "no program found". Your picture will be distorted or have vertical sync issues until you change the Broadcast system to NTSC.
B) Press the menu button and then using the menu, press the right arrow button twice. You should be in the subheading of "System".
C) Using your down menu arrow key space down one time to the option "TV system" and press OK on your remote.
D) Using your menu right arrow key, press twice until the option "NTSC" is highlighted, then press ok on your remote.
E) Your menu will now be in color and you should have a clear picture. This step to setting up your Junuo DVB-2500 FTA Receiver will only have to be completed once.
2) Adding North American Satellites to the menu (repeat if multiple LNB's installed)
We will have to manually add any North American satellites we wish to view. This is a simple task and can be accomplished in a minute or so using your remote. The Junou DVB-2500 can be changed by adding new satellite and transponder information quickly and easily. For the purpose of this example, we are going to program the receiver for 101.0 w known as satellite SES1 and in the next step we will programming in a transponder to pick up the Pentagon Channel.
A) Using your remote, press menu and right key or left arrow key until you are in the sub menu marked as "Installation"
B) down arrow key to the second item "add satellite" and press ok. It will bring up an options page for "Newsat1"
C) with the first line "newsat1" highlighted, press the menu ok button, and it will bring up a menu pad of letters and characters. Using your remote exit key, u can backspace the name "newsat1"until it is erased and then using your remote rename the satellite. For our example, we enter 101w or ses1. scroll down after renaming the satellite and press ok with your remote.
D) You will the be bought back to the previous screen with the exception that the satellite is now named 101w instead of "newsat1".
E) The settings for a KU type satellite will always be lnb type "standard" and the FREQ1 should always be 10750 for a KU standard type installation Also, LNB power should be left at 13/18v. For a single LNB installation (one satellite dish) the setiings for 22khz and diseqc will be off and off respectively These last two settings will change should u choose later to add multiple LNB's for additional satellite reception.
3) Adding transponders to North American Satellites via the menu (repeat if multiple LNB's installed)
We are now ready to program a transponder into the Junuo DVB-2500 FTA Receiver. From our earlier example, we are setting up a transponder for the Pentagon channel on 101w also know as SES1.
To do this we need three pieces of information on this transponder which are transponder frequency, symbol rate and polarity. There are many places this information can be obtained on the web but a large, reliable source that is frequently updated is www.lyngsat.com Below is a screen capture of the information for the Pentagon Channel.
Per the example below, the transponder frequency is 11821, the Polarity is H for horizontal, and the symbol rate is 20000. We now have the information we need to program our Junuo FTA Satellite Receiver.

1) Press menu on your remote and using the left or right arrow key move to the subcategory marked installation. Using the down arrow key ,move down to "NIT Search" and press ok.
2) You will now be in a menu screen to view or add transponder information. Make sure your first line is selected for the satellite you want to add a transponder to. Using our example, the first line should be selected for 101w. Key down to the button in the bottom row that is marked "Add TP" and press ok on the remote.
3) Using the information we obtained from lyngsat, for our example we will be entering the following:
A) enter 11821 in the field that says "TP Frequency"
B) enter 20000 in the field that says "Symbol Rate"
C) choose "H" for Polarity.
D) key down to the button marked "Save" and press ok.
Your Junuo DVB-2500 FTA Receiver is now ready to be connected to a KU Satellite Dish that has been "pointed" at 101w.
